英语中有很多表示颜色的词，遇到这些词语的时候要特别小心，因为它们很多都是别有深意的，按照字面意思理解的话就可能会闹笑话哦。下面我们就一起来看看英语中的颜色词。

1. blue blood 贵族；贵族血统

例如：In our age, one’s doesn’t need to be a blue blood. It’s one’s talents and personality that matter. 在我们这个年代，一个人不一定要出身高贵。重要的是他的才能和品质。

2. once in a blue moon 千载难逢，百年不遇

例如：It’s once in a blue moon that you get a chance like that. 你得到的是个千载难逢的机会。

3. out of the blue 突然地；出乎意料地

例如：John arrived out of the blue. 约翰突然来了。

The bad news came like a bolt out of the blue. 这消息来得如青天霹雳。

4. golden opinions 极高的评价

例如：The movie Life of Pi won golden opinions from audience and critics. 《少年派的奇幻漂流》赢得了观众和评论家们的极高评价。

5. green hand 新手，没有经验的人

从字面意思看，是“绿色的手”，但实际上却是“新手，没有经验的人”的意思。

6. white man 善良的人

从字面意思看，是“白人”的意思，但实际上却是指“忠实可靠的人，善良的人”。

7. white feather 懦夫

例如：He boasted a lot about his courage, but when danger came he showed the white feather. 他大夸而特夸自己很勇敢，但一遇到危险，他就显得胆怯。

例如：He stood there in a brown study for one and half hours. 他站在那里沉思默想了一个半钟头。

10. silver tongue 说话流利，有口才

例如：Tom has a silver tongue, and he can persuade John to give up his crazy plan. 汤姆会用他三寸不烂之舌说服约翰放弃他的疯狂计划。
