All hands字面意思是“所有的手”。但是外国人真的这么说的时候，不是这个意思！

事实上，这个短语有三个意思。

有些意思是所有参加者都要参加。在这种用法中，短语通常要用连字号连接。

例如：

we ' re having an all-hands meeting tomorrow to go over the new policies，so attendance is mandatory .
