子曰：「學而時習之，不亦說乎？
To learn and then do, is not that a pleasure?
有朋自遠方來，不亦樂乎？
When friends come from afar do we not rejoice?
人不知而不慍，不亦君子乎？」
To live unknown and not fret, is not that to be a gentleman?
子曰：「吾十有五而志于學，
The Master said, At fifteen, I had the will to learn;
三十而立，四十而不惑，
at thirty, I could stand; at forty, I had no doubts;
五十而知天命，六十而耳順，
at fifty, I understood the heavenly Bidding; at sixty, my ears were opened;
七十而從心所欲，不踰矩。
」
at seventy, I could do as my heart lusted without trespassing from the square.
子曰：「溫故而知新，可以為師矣。」
To keep old knowledge warm and get new makes the teacher.
子曰：「學而不思則罔，思而不學則殆。」
The Master said, Learning without thought is naught; thought without learning is dangerous.
